Bloomberg insider and journalist
Mark Gurman shared new details about the upcoming Apple Watch Series 8 and
Apple Watch SE 2nd generation smartwatches.
According to Gurman, the new
Apple S8 chip for Apple Watch Series 8 will be as identical as
possible to last year's S7 chip. But here's the catch: the S7 chip is a rebranded S6 chip used in the 2020 Apple Watch Series 6.
Gurman claims that Apple smartwatches will receive a "completely new processor"
only in 2023.
Apple Watch SE 2nd generation will not receive an enlarged screen, as in the Apple Watch Series 7, but they
will be equipped with the flagship S8 chip. In addition, the journalist noted
that this fall, Apple will finally refuse to support Apple Watch Series 3 and
remove this model from the sale.
Unfortunately, nothing is known
about the shockproof version of the Apple Watch for extreme sports fans.
Apple is expected to introduce new smartwatch models in September, along with the iPhone 14 series.
